A CLEAR, RED WINGED BIRD FIGURINEby Joe Morel of Zellique Art Glass. The figure is approx. 5" long and 3" wide. It is 2 3/4" tall. The bird is clear with cranberry red color only on the wings. However, depending on angles and lighting it often appears that the color moves throughout the glass.I have tried to create such a look in the photos. The piece is signed, diamond point engraving, Zellique Studios, 1982-12 Zellique Art Glass is well known internationally for their uniquely beautiful and intricately detailed art glass creations. The famed glass studio was founded by master glassblower Joseph Morel in 1980. Joseph’s career in the world of art glass began when he took a glassblowing class as a senior in college. Thus began his love of creating art glass and he continued to develop his skill and techniques after graduating from college. After several years he opened Zellique Art Glass in order to follow his artistic vision which was now unencumbered by the restrictions of working for others.
