This rare vintage Moorcroft Poppy pattern vase was introduced in 1923. Sometimes referred to as the Big Poppy design, it was one of at least 10 designs produced in the 1920’s featuring large scale flowers. The exquisite vase is decorated with multiple tube lined poppy blossoms in colored glazes of reds, pinks, blues and purples over stems of green and yellow hues against an indigo blue background. The impressed factory mark and painted signature for William Moorcroft are on the bottom of the vase. It is an exceptional functional art piece worthy of adorning any collection of fine pottery and art.
