This unique item is a Ribbon Vase, originally designed by American designer Peter Hewitt in 1996 for the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). The piece is a modernist, sculptural bud vase consisting of a thin, V-shaped anodized aluminum or steel insert suspended between two thick, heavy panels of clear glass. This design creates the illusion that the metal "ribbon" is floating within the glass.
