Mid-century Italian Ceramic Vase by Ivos Pacetti (1901-1970). Beautifuly made, elegant and wryly humorous. A substantial and distinctive work of Mid-century Italian design. The glaze on one side is a warm tan, the other a muted sea-foam green. The sides, which are nearly identical, are separated by a raised seam of violet/blue, a distinguishing feature of its inovative design. The glaze on both sides has a stippled quality, something I've noted on other Italian ceramics from this period. Although its application is for the most part consistent and even, there are a couple of minor 'flaws', barely noticable and certainly not distracting. There is also a small blemish that looks like two adjacent pencil jabs, they are glazed over so clearly pre-production. (Please refer to the photographs which are an essential part of the item's description.) (The vase is by a well-known maker whose name has slipped my mind; is there a knowledgeable Ebayer out there who could help with identifying this vase? Your assistance would be much appreciated!)
