This is a Very Rare Metal Hinged Glass Jar. This victorian glass with a mounted metal brass hinge closure- these are usually seen in powder or trinket shape for the dresser/vanity. This one seem to be shaped more like a candy Jar. This is one gorgeous collector's estate item.Measures: 5-1/2" tall by 4" wide at the widest part in the body. Top opening is 2-1/8" wideIt was made of Green Color Glass with the Leaf & Floral motif hand painted on it with yellow and gold polychrome enamel. The shape of this is very unique, but the style is typical of the Moser Glass company, so we will be attributing this to Moser.This would have been made, circa : late 1880's - 1900's era. Bohemian/Czech in origin, victorian hinged glass jar.Condition: No damages, chips or cracks. Metal Hinge assembly is original and all intact and working... Due to age and the way it is made- there is a molding line on the bottom (not a crack), there is a bubble encased in the bottom and one in the lid, the metal hinge looks great from the outside but from the inside you can see the composite they use to attach it.
