A curious and well executed piece of folk art pottery. This fired piece is not signed. Handmade terracotta mating camels sculpture. Measures 8" long x 4" tall. The piece is hand-modeled, not cast. The underside is hollowed by hand, and the clay surface shows shaping and tool marks consistent with artisan work. There is a small hairline on one leg (see photo) that likely occurred during kiln firing, no impact marks or chips. This novelty piece will fit right in with an unglazed terracotta crèche set, and is frankly quite fantastic all by itself. Lovely mix of detailed craftsmanship with a rustic folk art touch.
