Up for sale is an antique Griffen, Smith & Hill Pottery 'Etruscan Majolica' devil or Pan face vase standing 4" tall. This vase features a face on both sides, two handles, and is covered in a beautiful turquoise and red glaze treatment. The Griffen, Smith & Hill Pottery of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania went out of business in 1890. That means that this piece was made at least 19 years before Fulper Pottery ever started making art pottery. This vase is excellent, probably never used, condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This vase does have a fine very hard to see glaze crazing that you would expect to find on a 135+ year old piece of Majolica.
